Crude Futures is a magazine created by writers living in societies that feel increasingly in a state of precarious disrepair—which is to say, all of them.
Speculative vignettes, apocalyptic narratives, diagrammatic catastrophes, photographic treatments, frameworks for worldbuilding, cerebral germs by: Beau-Caprice Vetch, Richard Hames, Mina Miller, Jack Tarpey, Jake Colvin, phm, Matīss Groskaufmanis, Jon Benjamin Talleräs, Cat MacGregor, T.M. Wilson. Design & layout: Marcelino Llano.
Crude Futures is a project that arose from the New Models community. The production of the magazine and card game were funded by New Models' community fund.
I co-edited the magazine, co-wrote the introduction and the 'Collapse Camp' memoir, and contributed an essay, 'Bodies on the Wheels: Just Stop Oil'. An updated version of the magazine for Stack was published in 2024, which included 'Solutions Come From the Ground Up', an interview I wrote with 'SB' on the topics of protest and permaculture.
I read an edited version of 'Bodies on the Wheels: Just Stop Oil' on the New Models podcast.
